Green Campus

Sava International University of Technology has been recognized as one of the most sustainable universities in Europe, taking home the prestigious "Green Campus Award" at the 2025 EU Sustainability Summit in Berlin.

The award acknowledges SIUT's comprehensive strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. This includes the installation of the region's largest solar carport system, which now powers 60% of the campus's daily energy needs.

A Model for the Region

"We proved that sustainability and modern technology go hand in hand," said Dr. Ana Petrovic, Head of the Sustainable Development Office. "Our smart building management systems, developed right here by our engineering students, have reduced energy waste by 40%."

Student-Led Initiatives

The jury was particularly impressed by the "Zero-Waste Cafeteria" initiative led by the student council, which eliminated single-use plastics and introduced a campus-wide composting program.

As part of the award, SIUT will receive a grant to further develop its "Green Tech Incubator," supporting student startups focused on environmental solutions.
