Sava International University of Technology (SIUT) is thrilled to announce a landmark collaboration with Google DeepMind, positioning our Center for Artificial Intelligence at the forefront of European tech innovation.
Following the successful opening of our AI facility last year, SIUT has attracted global attention for its work in applying machine learning to climate modeling. This new partnership, finalized in late 2025, will bring cutting-edge resources and expertise to Novi Sad.
Focus on Sustainable AI
"This partnership validates the incredible work our faculty and students have done over the past year," said Dr. Elena Popovic, Director of the AI Center. "Together with DeepMind, we will focus on creating energy-efficient AI models that can solve complex environmental challenges."
The collaboration involves:
- Joint Research Grants: Funding for PhD students working on Green AI algorithms.
- Visiting Scholar Program: DeepMind engineers will host semester-long workshops at SIUT.
- Compute Infrastructure: Access to cloud TPU pods for training large-scale models.
Impact on Students
For SIUT students, this means direct access to world-class mentorship and internship opportunities. The first cohort of "SIUT x DeepMind" fellows has already been selected and will begin their projects in January 2026.
